Kids’ Zone

“Leave No Child Indoors” is the theme of Kids’ Zone. The Partnership for Children returns with a big lineup of children’s events. Kids can make their own trail mix, paint pumpkins and participate in scavenger hunts throughout the day for the kids.

·         Kids Fun Run ’round the point – 11:00 AM (ages 5-9) and 11:15 AM (ages 10-13),

·         Curious Kids! Mini-Talks. These will be short (15-20 minute) nature/outdoors focused presentations of interest to children and families, which will occur on the hour beginning at Noon in the Kids Zone “stumphitheater” (…kind of like an amphitheater, with tree stumps for seats!). Subjects include rocks and minerals; knots; geocaching, bees and ATV safety.

·       BB-Gun Range - sponsored by NC WRC at Free Point

Randolph Reptiles

Tree ID

Woodsmen

A big highlight of the day is the lumberjack demonstration by Montgomery Community College forestry students.

… And more

Disc golf is also a favorite. Food and craft vendors will be selling their homemade and handmade wares.
