ACTIVITIES

Due to the Government shutdown, all activities planned at Kings Mountain Point will be held at the Eldorado Outpost except the trail run which will be held at Kings Mountain Point.

 

The Uwharrie Mountain Festival is set for Oct. 12,
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Eldorado Outpost located on 109 North of Troy, NC.
There will be plenty of outdoor activities for the entire family.

Vendors with Arts, Crafts, and Food will be selling their homemade and handmade wares.
Kids' Zone

As 'Kids Zone' coordinators, the Montgomery County Partnership for Children is teaming up with First Health of the Carolinas and Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham to offer 'Play Daze at the Point'!

 

In addition to the usual FREE childrens activites (Pumpkin Painting, Nature Crafts, Face Painting, etc.), Discovery Place KIDS and the Be Active Kids 'Playmobile' will be on-site to add several new outdoor activities to the mix. Children will be invited to explore a variety of creative play possibilities, such as building a fort, blowing bubbles, mud play, reading outside, and much more!

 

You won't want to miss one of the special border collie demonstrations scheduled for 11:00 am and 12:30 pm or the Kids Fun Run around the point at noon!

Orienteering
The forest is a perfect place to try the competitive sport of orienteering. Participants find their way from checkpoint to checkpoint across natural terrain with the aid of a map and compass, the winner being the one with the lowest elapsed time.

Free open Kayaking.

Badin Lake 6-mile Trail Run/Walk

Take an early morning run along beautiful Badin Lake Trail! More than half the trail course rims the cool blue waters of the lake.

Starts at 8 a.m. from King's Mountain Point parking lot
