The Tourism Committee of 21st Century Montgomery is committed to the creation of the Uwharrie Mountain Festival, an annual celebration of the outdoor recreation, heritage arts and unique fare of the oldest mountain range in North America.
The festival is held the second weekend in October in the Eldorado community of Montgomery County, North Carolina with many activities taking place in the Badin Recreation Area of the Uwharrie National Forest.
Mission:
The Uwharrie Mountain Festival will showcase all that is unique and wonderful about the Uwharrie Mountains – its scenery, culture and heritage, recreational opportunities, good food, and its talented people - to build local pride and provide economic opportunity for tourism-related businesses.
